'Poppy globe' soldier marks Glasgow's WW1 commemorations

A sculpture of an unknown World War One soldier has been installed in Glasgow as part of the city's Remembrance commemorations.

'Every Man Remembered' stands on a block of limestone from the Somme area of France, is made of brass and stands 23ft tall.

Mark Bibbey, of Poppy Scotland, hopes the public will be inspired to pay their own respects on Armistice Day and to think of those who are injured in military service.

The statue, commissioned by the Royal British Legion, will be on display until 13 November.
