Orcadian 62-year-old set for his 100th ultramarathon

A man from Orkney is gearing up to tackle his 100th ultramarathon.

William Sichel has overcome cancer, run the world’s longest footrace and set 153 records at World, British and Scottish level; all in the last 20 years.

Once he completes the Brugg 24 hour road race, William will join a small number of people worldwide who have reached the milestone.

The 62-year-old ultra runner told BBC Scotland's David Delday that he hopes to inspire other people to get active.
