First North Ronaldsay seaweed-eating sheep festival

The first North Ronaldsay festival dedicated to its seaweed-eating sheep has begun.

Volunteers have joined islanders to rebuild stone dykes and to help gather more than 3,000 sheep for shearing.

In return there are classes in agricultural skills

Kate Traill Price from The Orkney Sheep Foundation told BBC Scotland that people have come from as far as Australia, Amsterdam and Denver to join in the 12-day event.
