Oil workers 48-hour strike set to go ahead after talks fail

A 48-hour strike by oil workers later this week looks set to go ahead after talks between management and unions collapsed.

Unite and the RMT union have been representing about 350 workers involved in the dispute over pay and conditions with oil services company Wood Group.

Some workers have claimed they face cuts of up to 30%; which Wood Group has denied.

Wood Group employees on seven Shell platforms in the North Sea are due to strike on Thursday and Friday.
