Brain family deportation case 'about doing the right thing'

An Australian family who want to stay in the UK could be deported from their home in the Highlands.

Kathryn and Gregg Brain arrived in Dingwall in 2011 with their son Lachlan on a post-study work visa.

Changes in immigration rules meant the family were no longer eligible to remain and needed an offer of work to meet Tier Two visa requirements which would have allow them to stay.

The deadline passed at midnight and local MP Ian Blackford has said he has appealed on their behalf to the UK's Minister of State, Robert Goodwill.
