Scotland's newest museum tells the story of life in the Western Isles

Scotland's newest museum has opened its doors to visitors in Stornoway.

Lews Castle portrays life in the Western Isles through the seasons and across the ages using exhibits including the Lewis Chessmen and the tale of Whisky Galore.

BBC Scotland's Ian Hamilton has been to visit the £19m restoration project which transformed the former derelict site.
