Nicola Sturgeon sworn in as first minister

Nicola Sturgeon has been formally sworn in as first minister of the Scottish Parliament.

The ceremony took place at the Court of Session, in Edinburgh, on Wednesday morning.

Ms Sturgeon had the support of her 63 SNP MSPs during a vote in Holyrood, on Tuesday, which saw her comfortably beat rival contender Willie Rennie, leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats.

She will announce a reshuffle of her cabinet later.
