Aberdeen Town House restoration cost rises

The cost of restoring one of Aberdeen's most prestigious civic buildings appears to have jumped by £2m, according to the city council.

Workmen are about three quarters of the way through a two-year project to restore the 19th Century Town House and its clock tower.

The estimated cost has now risen from the original estimate of £1.2m to nearly £3.5m.

Alasdair White, managing director of John Fulton Plumbers, explained to BBC Scotland's John McManus how the work has been carried out.
