Farm fire awareness campaign launches in southern Scotland

A campaign has been launched to cut the number of farm fires in southern Scotland.

Farmers have been encouraged to have their properties assessed to reduce the risk of fire breaking out and to minimise the danger to firefighters if it does.

The Scottish Fire Service and the National Farmers' Union have joined forces for the pilot scheme in South Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway.

BBC Scotland's Willie Johnston has been visiting one farm during a fire risk assessment.
