Week of tragedy in Scotland's mountains
Hillwalkers are being urged to consider their safety after a second man dies after being rescued from the Southern Uplands, while two people are missing on Ben Nevis.
A second of the three hillwalkers who went missing in the Southern Uplands has died, say Police Scotland.
The three men had been airlifted to hospital in Dumfries on Wednesday after more than 24 hours in the hills.
The men who died have been named as 73-year-old George Crosbie and Geoffrey Stewart, who was 74, both from Dumfries.
A third man, Bobby Thomson, is said to be recovering in hospital.
The search for two missing climbers on Ben Nevis has been suspended because of the risk of avalanches, as BBC Scotland's Craig Anderson reports.
