Forth Road Bridge reopening delayed until March

The full reopening of the Forth Road Bridge has been delayed by a month.

A phased reintroduction of lorries will begin on Thursday night, from 23:00 until 04:00 on Friday, when a maximum of 600 lorries will be allowed to cross northbound only.

Engineers have said that this will minimise the impact on the structure which is still being repaired.

Car and vehicles weighing less than 7.5 tonnes have been allowed to use the bridge since early January, after a complete closure was introduced in December.

BBC Scotland's Steven Godden reports.
