Storm Gertrude batters Scotland

Storm Gertrude has caused damage and disruption as it battered Scotland, with gusts reaching 110mph in Shetland.

Schools were closed, trains, flights and ferries cancelled, bridges closed and homes left without power as strong winds rampaged across the country.
