Storm Gertrude's gusts over Shetland reach hurricane force 12

Wind speeds in Shetland have reached hurricane force 12 as Storm Gertrude passes over.

All schools have been closed in the islands and Loganair has cancelled all of its flights to Sumburgh Airport for the remainder of the day.

Inter island flights and ferries have also been called off.

The strongest gust of wind on Friday was 110mph, not far off the record of 120mph which was clocked in January 1994.
