Scottish government considering adding folic acid to flour
The Scottish government is considering a plan to add folic acid to flour to help prevent brain and spinal disorders developing during pregnancies.
Many countries, including the US, have been doing so for many years.
Research has suggested up to 2,000 birth defects since 1998 could have been avoided here if the UK had followed suit.
