New sugar tax proposed to tackle Scottish obesity

Scotland's new food body has recommended that the Scottish government makes plans for the introduction of a tax on sugar.

Food industry body, Food Standards Scotland, has also called for the sector to be given 12 months to come up with an alternative way of reducing sugar consumption.
