'Be aware' warnings for Storm Eva's wind and rain

The Met Office has issued yellow "be aware" warnings for strong winds and heavy rain across parts of Scotland from late on Wednesday through to Christmas Eve.

Storm Eva is expected to bring gusts of 80 to 90 mph across the North West, the Northern and Western Isles from late on Wednesday through to Thursday afternoon.

Warnings have also been issued for heavy rain across western and southern Scotland with the heaviest downpours expected in the southern uplands and the southern and central Highlands.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency has issued one flood alert and ten flooding warnings for Tayside.
