Holyrood tributes to RAF personnel

The leaders of the main political parties in Scotland have sent their good wishes to RAF personnel involved in air strikes on Syria.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon reiterated her disagreement with the UK government's decision to carry out air strikes in Syria, saying she is "deeply troubled" by what she perceives as a lack of strategy.

Her feelings were echoed by the Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale.

Ruth Davidson, leader of the Scottish Conservatives, added her gratitude to those who work to "keep us living safely at home".

The first Typhoons have left RAF Lossiemouth for Cyprus to take part in air strikes on Islamic State militants in Syria after MPs in Westminster voted in favour of military action.
