Scotland's forestry worth almost £1bn says report

Scotland's forestry industry contributes almost £1bn to the economy every year and provides jobs for 25,000 people, according to new figures by the Forestry Commission Scotland.

An audit of forestry and timber production shows the sector has been buoyant since the last review in 2008.

Industry leaders say new processing techniques are also producing more valuable wood products.
