Edinburgh takes a step closer to 20mph city zones
Lesley Hinds, the City of Edinburgh Council transport committee convener, has told BBC Scotland of the council's future transport plans for the city.
The proposal includes introducing 20mph zones, investing in roads and pavements.
Speaking to BBC Scotland's transport correspondent David Miller, Ms Hinds said: "We're moving it forward, to put out to the public in terms of the whole of the city so each street and each road will be identified and people will make comments.
"If they believe that a 30 reduced to a 20 is not right for their residential area, come back and respond to us."
Council leaders had agreed to introduce the 20mph zone earlier this year.
