Games minister on Team Scotland's parade uniform: 'It is what it is'

Scots have been urged to get over their objections to the controversial tartan uniform chosen for the Commonwealth Games and to back the team.

The call came from Shona Robison MSP, the Scottish Government's Commonwealth and Sports Secretary.

Speaking during a BBC Scotland News webcast on Scottish independence, Ms Robison told BBC Scotland's Brian Taylor: "The time is to back the team you know, it is their parade uniform.

"It is what it is. It's bright, it's colourful, it will stand out on the telly and it's not something that we're expecting people to wear on a night out."
