Road safety advert banned from TV

An advert highlighting cyclist safety has been banned from being shown on TV by the Advertising Standards Authority.

Cycling Scotland's advert aims to raise drivers' awareness of cyclists on the road.

The ASA deemed the advert was "socially irresponsible" because it shows a cyclist who is not wearing a helmet.

Cycling Scotland said wearing a helmet while cycling was not a legal requirement.
