Church of Scotland General Assembly votes to allow gay ministers

The Church of Scotland's General Assembly has voted to allow gay people in civil partnerships to become ministers.

The commissioners voted in favour of a proposal that allows parishes to choose gay ministers if they wish.

The decision will have to be endorsed by the church's regional presbyteries and officially approved next year.

Robert Pigott reports.
