Building the UK's largest high speed railway track bed

High speed rail has arrived in Scotland - virtually.

Researchers have created the UK's biggest purpose-built track bed at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

The track will simulate the pounding of years of high speed trains in a matter of weeks.

BBC Scotland's science correspondent Kenneth Macdonald reports.
