200-year-old school doodles found

An exhibition giving a unique insight into the children of a Scottish family, as they were growing up more than 200 years ago, has opened in Aberdeenshire.

The school text books were passed between siblings of the Erskine family from Fife.

The books are filled with words and drawings which could have been written when they were bored in class.

They will be going on display as part of a children's exhibition at Duff House in Banff.
