Kids should be taught locally say Edinburgh council

A campaign has been launched in Edinburgh to persuade parents to send their children to their nearest local authority school.

At the last count, 30,000 families across Scotland made placing requests to schools outwith their catchment area.

Smaller class sizes are expected to result in more families seeing placing requests turned down.
