Pro-EU campaign boss in clash with Conservative MP

Lord Rose, the former M&S boss who heads the pro-EU Britain Stronger in Europe campaign, has clashed with Conservative MP Andrew Tyrie during his appearance before the Treasury Select Committee.

The MP accused Lord Rose of a "scandalous misuse of data" by stating as fact CBI figures which estimate the benefits of being in the EU being worth £3,000 a year to the average UK household.

In response, the Conservative peer defended the figures and suggested Mr Tyrie had "called his reputation into question" and "impugned his integrity".
