Israel's UK ambassador has apologised after a staff member was filmed commenting on MPs.

Israel's ambassador to the UK has apologised after a member of his staff was secretly filmed saying he wanted to "take down" foreign office minister Sir Alan Duncan.

Senior political officer Shai Masot made the comment in footage secretly filmed by Al Jazeera in a London restaurant.

Ambassador Mark Regev said it was not the Israeli embassy or government's view.
