'It was a campaign run in difficult circumstances'

Tracy Brabin has held the Labour seat of Batley and Spen, where Jo Cox was MP before she was killed in June.

The seat was not contested by other major parties out of respect for Mrs Cox, who was shot and stabbed in her West Yorkshire constituency.

Mrs Brabin welcomed the result, describing it as a "positive endorsement from the people of Batley and Spen" in an election that "nobody wanted".
