Iain Duncan Smith: Hard Brexit is not a gamble

As MPs debate the merits of so-called hard or soft Brexit, it is becoming clear that the question of what Britain's post-divorce relationship with the EU will look like is dominating British politics.

Former work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith leans towards a hard Brexit - where the UK might refuse to compromise on issues like the free movement of people in order to maintain access to the EU single market.

Mr Duncan Smith told HARDtalk's Stephen Sackur he was sceptical about warnings that this could be gambling with the country’s economic prosperity.

You can see the interview in full on Thursday 13 October on BBC World News and in the UK on BBCiPlayer.
