'Having won the party, he needs to win the country'

Defeated leadership candidate Owen Smith say she is to think "about what my future looks like" after Jeremy Corbyn secured nearly 62% of the votes.

He congratulated the re-elected leader, but said the country was "still at risk of not looking to the country like a united and credible alternative to the Conservatives".

The Pontypridd MP told BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg: "I am extremely humbled that almost 200,000 Labour members and supporters put their faith in me."
