Owen Smith warns early election would 'decimate' Labour

Labour leadership challenger Owen Smith has said the party could be out of power for a generation if an election is held next year.

It follows reports Jeremy Corbyn would instruct MPs to vote for an early election if he wins the leadership contest.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, the MP for Pontypridd warned Labour would be 'decimated' at the polls.
