Gill Furniss, widow of Harry Harpham, wins Sheffield seat

Labour has held on to the Westminster seat of Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough in a by-election triggered by the death of Harry Harpham in February.

His widow Gill Furniss won a majority of 9,590.

She said she would continue the work of her "loving husband" and would fight to save the steel industry and for a fair deal for Sheffield.
