Dispatch to Queen from Vice Chamberlain of Household role =

A government whip, the Vice Chamberlain of the Household, writes the monarch a dispatch every evening to explain what MPs have been debating.

Janet Anderson, who did the job in the early years of the Blair government has published her missives in a volume called Dear Queen, and some of them have been dramatised by BBC Radio 4.

She spoke to Jo Coburn on the Daily Politics, along with with current occupant of that role, the Conservative MP Kris Hopkins.
