Schools minister: Academy plans 'not diktat'

Schools minister Nick Gibb has defended the government policy of turning all schools into academies, after criticism from Conservative councillors.

Speaking to Nick Robinson on the Today programme he said that on current trends, the "vast majority" of schools would be academies in a few years and "we can't have two systems".
