Conservative MP urges government to keep Sunday special

Conservative MP David Burrowes warns the government not to "chip away" at what makes Sunday special by overhauling the current trading laws.

Speaking in the Commons during a debate on the Enterprise Bill, he said giving councils the freedom to determine opening hours in their areas were opposed by small and large businesses, shop workers and faith groups.

Ministers have offered a number of concessions to avert a possible government defeat in a vote later on Wednesday.
