An RAF Tornado GR4, with remaining weapons ordnance, comes into land through the heat haze, at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, as it returns to the base after carrying out some of the first British bombing runs over Syria.

Michael Fallon: 'Omar oil fields attacked in Syria'

The Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has confirmed that RAF Tornado jets based in Cyprus carried out their first air strikes.

Speaking to the BBC he said: "I can confirm that four British tornados were in action after the vote last night, attacking oil fields in eastern Syria".
