PM David Cameron outlines strategy to attack IS

David Cameron has presented his case to the Commons for the UK to launch air strikes against Islamic State militants in Syria.

The prime minister urged MPs to back military action as part of a comprehensive strategy to tackle IS.

He warned of the threat posed by the militant group to the UK, adding that the country should not outsource its security to others.

A Commons vote is expected within weeks on whether to authorise air strikes.
