Syria: Will UK MPs give backing to airstrikes?

Ministers are increasingly confident they can get approval from MPs for the UK to launch airstrikes against Islamic State in Syria, the BBC has been told.

On Wednesday, David Cameron made it clear he would ask MPs to vote again on military action in Syria, also saying he believes a mandate from the United Nations is unnecessary.
