John McDonnell defends new shadow cabinet

Asked about the lack of women in senior posts the new shadow chancellor, John McDonnell, said that Labour rejected the "hierarchical nature of what we've inherited" about the top jobs.

He said that roles such as the shadow education and health secretaries were more important for the British people.

He also said that he thought women would be fairly represented across Labour's administration.
