Mark Reckless: People of Rochester and Strood have spoken

The UK Independence Party's Mark Reckless has won the Rochester and Strood by-election, giving the party a second seat at Westminster.

Mr Reckless triggered the vote when he resigned as a Conservative MP and defected to UKIP.

He told the BBC: "The people of Rochester and Strood have spoken. I felt I had to ask their permission."
