Campaigning in the general election of 1979 with a manifesto including a reduction in the price of cat food and a government subsidy for soft toilet paper, the Silly Party are easily dismissed as a frivolous sideshow. But as Jeremy Fox, Silly Party candidate in the constituency of Dover, explains, behind the silliness is a serious political purpose.
