Nick Clegg pledges tax cuts immediately after election

Nick Clegg has announced that it would be Liberal Democrat policy to bring in tax cuts immediately after next year's election.

He said they would raise the threshold to £11,000 in the first year of the next parliament.

The Lib Dem leader said the increase would be paid for by tax rises on the wealthy and that would be a "fair way of funding tax breaks".
