Ballot boxes at the ready in Scotland ahead of referendum vote

It has taken two years to prepare for the Scottish referendum, and with a huge turnout expected, there is now a massive operation underway to gather all the votes - by air, sea and road.

Thousands of people across Scotland, including volunteers and police, are readying the ballot boxes, polling stations and counts for the referendum on Thursday.
