George Monbiot and Ed Davey on government energy plans

The Lib Dem energy secretary has defended the government's green credentials over energy policy.

Ed Davey said there had been a doubling in the amount of electricity from renewable sources, doubling of the investment for future renewable electricity, while legislating for the world's first low-carbon electricity market.

He debated the government's record, along with environmentalist George Monbiot, after watching a Daily Politics film on green policies.
