Godfrey Bloom: UKIP must change or get no MPs in 2015
UKIP needs to change or could get no seats at the 2015 general election, said one of its former MEPs standing down this month after serving in Brussels for 10 years.
Godfrey Bloom, who has sat as an independent for the last year, said UKIP had been "banging on" about immigration, but needed to put a "bit more flesh on the bone" to win Westminster seats.
He said he "might upset the establishment, but I get the votes" and his constituents knew who he was, and did not regret the controversial headlines he has received.
Mr Bloom said he "had a sherbet" with Nigel Farage and they were on good terms, but warned the Newark result would be a "warning signal" for UKIP that it needed to talk about other issues.
