Support across Europe for parties opposed to the EU

More than 400 million voters will go to the polls this week in the first European Parliament elections since the financial crisis.

The economic downturn led to high unemployment, protests and spending cuts in many countries.

Political parties that criticise or oppose the EU are expected to do well in the vote.
