Griff Rhys Jones: Welsh 'too sensible' for independence

The Welsh people were "too sensible" to want independence from the UK, said Griff Rhys Jones who was born in Cardiff and runs two businesses in Wales.

He was in a Daily Politics debate on the record of the Welsh government following a film on devolution in Wales.

Jo Coburn spoke to the Welsh government's Communities Minister Jeff Cuthbert, who said there was "no appetite for independence in Wales".

Andrew RT Davies, leader of the Welsh Conservatives, claimed "Wales does lag other parts of the United Kingdom", which he blamed on the policy direction of the Labour-run government.
