David Cameron: UK and France 'as close as ever'

Prime Minister David Cameron has been holding talks with French President Francois Hollande at a UK-France summit in London.

The two men discussed defence, energy and science, at the Brize Norton RAF base in Oxfordshire.

In his opening statement, Mr Cameron insisted the partnership between the UK and France ''is as close and important as ever''.

''We are two leaders determined to keep our citizens safe'', he added.
