Henning Wehn: 'I want politicians as dull as possible'

The German stand-up comedian Henning Wehn looked at the ongoing appeal, and the image, of Angela Merkel, who won a third term as chancellor of Germany this week.

He described her as the "nation's mother," but he said of leaders: 'I want them as dull as possible.".

Michael Portillo said Merkel - along with Thatcher, Blair and Putin - were "clear leaders" - in the debate about which politicians were cool, or uncool, along with Jacqui Smith and Andrew Neil on BBC One's This Week.
