McLoughlin: Tories 'not worried about UKIP'
Conservative cabinet minister Patrick McLoughlin has said he is not worried "at all" about the performance of the UK Independence Party in this week's local elections.
Responding to accusations from UKIP that the Tories are behind a smear campaign against them, Transport Secretary McLoughlin told Sophie Raworth that candidates should always be put under scrutiny.
He added that his main concern was that the electorate voted for the Conservatives in Thursday's elections in order to ensure low council tax.
